A Town Like Alice

I read (well I guess listened to, technically) a great book last week called A Town Like Alice. Trying to describe what it was about is tough without giving the plot away but it's a romantic adventure story about two people who meet as prisoners during World War II and what happens to them after the war. A large part of the novel is set in Australia, which as I mentioned before, is one place I'm kind of fascinated with. It also has some great portrayals of peoples kindness in the worst of circumstances, which I found particularly moving in a world that I sometimes think has a bit too much cynicism in it.
